A historic hotel site
Located at 6, rue Lainerie, just a stone's throw from Gare Saint-Paul, the Académie Hôtel is housed in a Renaissance building whose construction date is estimated at the 15th century.
Archives show that the building has probably been welcoming travellers ever since it was built.
This unique heritage building has been completely renovated, bearing witness to 7 centuries of hospitality, and has now become the Académie Hôtel.
An exceptional built heritage
The restoration work has resulted in a magnificent whitewashed façade that respects the original colour of the building.
The hotel's inner courtyard has also been restored to its original splendour, giving the building a unique character.
Other ornaments have been restored, such as the sculpted coats of arms that could be those of Estienne Guerrier, a hotelier who occupied the premises from the early 15th century.
Look up...
In certain suites on the rue Lainerie side, travellers will have the pleasure of observing paintings dating back to the 15th century, discovered during archaeological excavations and entirely restored by Atelier Royal. An exceptional heritage that bears witness to its past history.
From College to Academy
The Académie Hôtel is in dialogue with the Collège Hôtel, a 4* establishment located just opposite and designed on the theme of school, where travellers are seduced by its unique atmosphere "in memory of our dreams".
The Académie Hôtel draws its inspiration from the eponymous places of learning and erudition where the world's most eminent specialists gather to reflect and debate in the various fields of human knowledge.
Each floor develops the theme of an Academy: the Académie Française, the Académie des Belles-Lettres, the Académie des Beaux-Arts or the Académie des Sciences. Each of the 12 rooms and suites offers the Academicians a space for free discussion.
